including vocabulary worksheets, speaking practice activities,

views and sharing ideas. Onestopenglish.com is updated every
month.

Amazon...became
the latest Internet giant to jump into the fight to bring novels,
biographies and textbooks online, announcing two new programs
Thursday that allow the retailer to sell books that can be
read on the Web. One will allow users to buy online access
to any page or chapter of a book. Another will give users access
to entire books online as long as they also buy the

Encyclopedia.
This free online encyclopedia contains over 50,000 entries and
more than 84,000 hypertext cross-references covering a wide range
of research and reference topics. The Columbia Encyclopedia is one
of the most complete and up-to-date electronic encyclopedias ever

MSN
Search "Microsoft today
[Manchester Guardian 4Nov05] issued a direct challenge to
Google as it announced plans to digitise around 100,000 books - 25
million pages - from the British Library. In a "strategic
partnership", the software giant and the British Library will work
together to digitise out-of-copyright books. The digitised
contents will be made available on the library's website and
through the new MSN Book Search service that will help people to
find books. The British Library's vast collection includes 13
million books, 7 million manuscripts, 4.5 million maps, 56 million
patents, 3.5 million sound recordings, 8 million stamps, and 58
million newspapers in various formats."
