While performance standards for the Christian Brothers High School Library are based upon the needs and goals of our own Christian LaSallian school community, we also use as guidelines such written performance standards as those created for the California School Library Association, and the general principles and guidelines set forth in Catholic Library Association publications.
Among the performance standards we use are:
Standard One:
Standard Two:
Standard Three: The library materials collection reflects the diverse needs, interests, and learning styles of all students.
Standard Four: The library materials collection includes resources in a variety of formats.
Standard Five: The library materials collection is developed according to a selection policy that has been approved by the governing board.
Standard Six:
Standard Seven:
Standard Eight: The library media cener has the potential for growth.
In accordance with our long-range plan, we rate our status in each
standard as "Exemplary", "Making Progress" or "At Risk". During the
2005-2006 school year, our Library Media Teachers, in concert with
school administrators, faculty, staff and other interested parties,
will develop benchmarks for our Library Media Center. We will then
document annually how well we've met the standards.
